Afghan women are currently struggling with social isolation, lack of education, lack of English language and stress.

As being family women who don't speak English, these mothers feel that they can not venture outside their homes, and this fear takes away their opportunity to get out in the world and do simple things like buying groceries or picking up the children from school.

We aim to empower the women through English language classes, information sessions, driving lessons and leadership training. We believe these programs we make available for them will bring them out into society, become more active and maybe even offer any skills they may have to Australia.

Dari-speaking women's group.
We have gatherings for the mothers of the families that come to us for assistance. As they don't fully understand Australian life, we help them by teaching them basic knowledge.

For example;
  • we help them with learning road rules
  • we help them to get their drivers license
  • and we teach them how to speak and write English.

We hope that by doing so and by them gaining better practical and theoretical knowledge and capabilities, they have a better chance of enjoying their material and moral qualities of life.

This support was made possible thanks to Auburn Council.
